A starlit masquerade in an industrial hall, and a Christmas fair in the open air

A two-part winter project: an evening masquerade for adults and a Christmas fair for children and families.

The masquerade took place in an industrial hall with brick walls and steel trusses. The theme is the starry sky: moons, crescents and stars. Strands of silver tinsel hang from the ceiling, with tiered candle chandeliers between them. The arched openings are veiled in white fabric and lit as though moonlight were shining behind them.

At the heart of it all is the Solar System. At first the planets are hidden under covers of sheer fabric. Then the covers come off, the stars light up, and the guests see the whole Solar System.

The space holds many scenes, each designed differently: portals with crescent cut-outs, a huge glowing moon, showcases with planet figures, a crescent among silver spheres.

Outside the hall stands an arch with video projection, where cosmic images change all evening.

The children’s part is a Christmas village in the open air: alleys of fir trees with arches, a skating rink framed by glowing cubes, a tall fir tree, a gingerbread house, a wall of gifts, a clear tent hung with wreaths, and an entrance tunnel with “HO HO HO” in red tinsel. By evening everything lights up with garlands.
